Our destination is Sigiriya – a world heritage site. The lion rock is where the king built his palace. On the way we stopped and did an elephant safari. Aliya resort lobby has a view of the rock. Tuesday, January 30th 2024 – Temple Visit
Today we explored the history of Buddhism and its arrival in Sri Lanka. We experienced many different foods and fruits. We have an excellent guide who goes everywhere with us and we also have a driver. So two people to look after us. They are both very good.
Monday, January 29th 2024 – Arrived in Sri Lanka
After 19 hours of flying and 10 hours of layover in London we have finally arrived in Sri Lanka. Met up with our driver and guide. First day has gone well.

Our family trip to Sri Lanka began today. We all met up in London. It’s 50 years since I left my birthplace. I have been back once in 2004 to help with the tsunami.
